Internet Explorer是微软发布的非常流行的WEB浏览器。

Microsoft Internet Explorer在实例化COM对象时存在缓冲区溢出漏洞。当在Internet Explorer中实例化时，Microsoft DDS Library Shape Control (Msdds.dll)和其他COM对象允许攻击者完全控制受影响的系统。

这个漏洞是MS05-038中所述COM对象实例化漏洞（CAN-2005-1990）的变种，但受影响的COM对象不同。
